Always install KÖNIG Vinyl plank in a cool fashion. At a low temperature the vinyl is at its smallest. As it warms up the vinyl plank will tighten up as vinyl plank size increases as it warms.

Pre-cut all door jams to the height of the vinyl plank.

If you have problems installing KÖNIG Call 780-952-4449 to speak to a 25 year veteran installer.

Konig 1.8mm Glue Down Instructions

  • Store product in a cool environment (for example cold cement like a garage or basement with unheated floors). Not freezing, but cool.

  • Konig Luxury vinyl plank products will shrink in cool temperatures and expand in warm temperatures.

  • Most important part of any flooring installation is prep work. We cannot stress this enough. The smoother the floor the better the performance.

  • If planks begin to peak from growth use a drop of crazy glue to hold down any stubborn boards or adjust the temperature of the house.

  • Subfloor is always recommended for the best results in flooring. It provides a smooth and level foundation. We suggest a 3/8 Enstron subfloor in 4x8 sheets using ¼ crown staples (staple every inch or less on joints and every 4 inches in the field). Do not use glue under subfloor. When done correctly it will hold its 15-year warranty.

  • We recommend Henry 695 pressure sensitive glue for full spread, or perimeter glue using a #CS-9#25 1/16X1/16X1/16 trowel.

  • Spread glue and let dry till tacky (dry to the touch) before install. Apply pressure and roll with a 100lbs roller (roller not needed for perimeter glue)

  • We recommend Lamanator plus cleaning products to help protect Konig flooring for both commercial and residential areas. Warranty can be affected if floors are cleaned and sealed with other products.

Konig SPC Click Flooring Installation

5-6.5mm

  • Store products in a cool environment (for example cold cement like a garage or basement with unheated floors). Not freezing, but cool.

  • Although it’s very unlikely SPC may shrink when cool and expand when warm. Make sure vinyl is cool when installed to reduce shrinking and allow for more growth.

  • SPC should be cut a fingertip away from walls.

  • A 5/8 bottom base board should be used for SPC click. This will allow the base to cover all cut edges.

  • Subfloor is always recommended for the best results in flooring. It provides a smooth and level foundation. We recommend a 3/8 Enstron subfloor in 4x8 sheets using ¼ crown staples (staple every inch or less on joints and every 4 inches in the field). Do not use glue. When done correctly it will hold its 15-year warranty.

  • Most important part of any flooring install is prep work. We cannot stress this enough. The smoother the floor the better the performance.

  • A tapping block may be required (or a scrap piece of SPC click) to make sure all joints are tight.

  • Konig SPC click is double tempered to help shrinking and expanding.

  • We recommend Lamanator plus cleaning products to help protect Konig flooring for both commercial and residential areas. Warranty can be affected if floors are cleaned and sealed with other products.
